Disneyland Resort Paris

8:30 this time the alarm was bearable... This hotel got fantastic beds. I come here with my work and use the bed only 6 hours during the day, before I go back to the UK. So spending the whole night was bliss. If I could have fit the bed in my bag, it would already be in my bedroom... Leigh wasn't as happy as I was... He actually hated the bed and started to moan too early for me at that stage... Breakfast was a fantastic experience. Kids everywhere ...

... if you want to snack while you wait. I find there is no need to do so since I waited only about 5 minutes in line. I figured it would be crowded since breakfast ends in 30 minutes. Breakfast is typical European style I’ve grown fond of in my travels. There are several types of bread, pastries, cold cuts, fruit, and yogurt. Standard fare in most European hotels I have stayed at. Also though, I find a crepe station and there is a section with ...

France Day 29 - Goodbyes ... and Disney Paris!

... to pick us up and escort us to Angers to see us on our way. We arrive without any problems and are able to see a little bit of Angers. Sandrine tells us a tad bit about the history of the beautiful castle that remains ... apparently, the Duke of Angers was so popular and powerful, that the King of France at the time demanded that the Duke cut the tops off the castle towers as a show of respect. ... It was done ... and the towers have remained at 75% height ever ...

Day Two

... Geoff picked us up he drove us around Paris a bit, showing us the sights and the monuments. Perhaps most memorable was his hatred of French president Sarkozy; later in the apartment we wove together a story involving boat guy, Geoff, and the unfortunate "suicide" of the newlywed president. We shared a champagne toast to celebrate Becky's upcoming wedding and friends old and new, and eventually wandered off to bed.

Grab Shell, Dude!

... we continued with our plan, going to see the first show of the day, Animagique. It was nice enough, the best part about it being the cool black-light effects that you don't see in normal shows. There was then time for another quick ride on the Tower of Terror before we took in a session of Cinemagique, a somewhat interactive and funny film with a story that travels through the history of cinema. Worth watching but not high on the repeatability list. For the rest of Tuesday we ...

Mi Amor Chegar

After two and a half excruciating months, my girlfriend and I are one again. It is absolutely wonderful to be with the one I love again - it even makes the time waiting for her all worth it, even more so. The weekend I spent doing nothing but moping around my room waiting for her... also moped a little at the bar as well. She arrived early morning ...

... everywhere and also the Moulin Rouge. I sure learnt that the French are certainly more open about sexuality than us aussies are. 2nd Aug I'm getting fairly over paris now and today got myself a train ticket and headed to the town of chatres. It's a very touristy place but beautiful nonetheless. I just spent the day checking out the big church in the middle of the place and taking photos along the river-walk. 3rd Aug Was gonna ...

24 Hours in Paris - Part III

... add up when you make mistakes on the Metro. If this was the wrong line, I might still make it through checkin, security, and to my gate in time, but everything would have to go perfect. And everything going perfect was not the theme to this trip so far. The relief of seeing the Sevran Beaudottes sign at the next stop is indescribable. I suddenly get the urge to dance. But wait, I'm not in yet. Ten minutes or so later, the line ends at Aeroport Ch. de Gaulle 2 (oh ...

... can be too big. Our time ended with the louvre, more because we had to see it than everything. the mona lisa smiled mockingly from behind a wall of onlookers, knowing that she was queen of this castle and that her palace was utterly unconquerable. andy and i saw pretty much all the paintings in one evening, but by the end we were so weary that we barely absorbed the rich history of europe that was pasing us by. so many paintings crammed into so many rooms ...
