      ... bridge high above the Sa˘ne to save time ... not a great sensation, I found. Hit the Gare Perrache and the Geneva train after booking our seats for next Sunday to Toulouse. The Geneva train was rapid with few stops, weaving its way into forested valleys with rocky peaks. We had a compartment to ourselves, so we chatted and dreamed at will. Two and a bit hours.

      Later we arrived at Geneva ... exactly on time, to stand in ...

      ... for dinner on the way, then pretty much went straight to bed. I felt a bit rude because it was Madame's grand-daughters birthday, her grandchildren had been staying with us this week.       Today we went to a puppet show in the Parc de la Tete d'Or.  It was very funny, the police man, his name was Guignol, kept hitting the thief over the head with a big wooden stick.  After the puppet show we had a turn on the carousel and the pedal cars.  Then we had crepes, they were the best ones ...

      I arrived at the Vieux Lyon metro station. I paid with my ticket, then walked in to the boarding area for the Funicular to the Roman Theatre.
