... about 8 miles away). We caught the bus for the bargain price of 3 euro each return and had a great day wandering through all the old streets and around the harbour area checking out all the yatchs and dodging the downpours.

Spent the evening catching up with all the family on facetime which was so lovely then an early night as we are on the road again tomorrow......

... Now clearly a tourist site with many french tourists taking advantage of the long weekend to visit without the hoards of Poms.

A picturesque stop and a break from inland visits, the remainder of the trip in France will follow the coast.

Back at hotel base we looked for a place for dinner in the area, nut it was Sunday, and mostly anything other than a bar was closed. We had to settle for a warmed slice of quiche and a beer at a bar in Pont Aven. No plate or cutlery, just the quiche on a piece of aluminum foil!
So if you are planning to travel to small towns in France (and perhaps Europe) most restaurants will be closed on Sunday and Monday.

... and there are also many art galleries. Steven and I tried to make a reservation at a neat restaurant in an old mill, but they were not going to be open on Sunday or Monday.
Back at our hotel we had made reservations for tonight. What a wonderful time and superb meal we all had. Collectively we had scallops, duck and steak for the main course. Our appetizers ...

... of the town destroyed. We didn’t care to see the WWII barracks, nor the Submarine base so the only other place was an island off shore with the only convex beach in Europe. So…we made our way to the Tourist Information Office only to find it closed for another hour. We get the message!! LOUD & CLEAR! So, back to the ship we went.
