    ... colours of the trees and the brilliant green of the grass was amazing.

    E failed to get any lunch as we discovered that 11:11 is a bank holiday in France and everywhere was closed! So we arrived at the hotel at 5:00 pm and were starving! We checked in and the owner kindly provided us with pate and bread and a glass of red....perfect!

    ... watch a crew set up for a rock concert this evening (for which we'll be home in bed, but what a fantastic venue). We enjoyed a leisurely multi-course lunch, although after the very large appetizer, Thomas got ready to go, assuming that we were done.     ... of cows, white ones today mainly. We'd set the car navigator for directions without tolls as we checked both and said they were the same distance. While it was pretty, we probably went the long way and arrived in Lyon at dusk and loads of traffic. Wasn't too bad finding the motel, it was probably harder trying to park the car, tight parking with small spaces and larger cars jutting ou not giving you a turning circle. But yay we made it.     ... if necessary, we will try to scrounge some boxes from a bike store or wherever. Failing that, we will buy bike boxes (real ones, not disposable). I think we can actually mail the bikes home for a bit less than the airline charges. But we're a little nervous because there is a lot that needs to go right in the next couple of days.

    ... and a mix of juices, all in a wine bottle. It was surprisingly delicious! Te bar was packed, we had a great night,and we headed home to bed. Today, we spent the day trying to figure out train tickets, and walking around the city. Since it's a Sunday, everything is closed. We were able to see some things from the outside, but came home relatively early and did some laundry. We're going to make dinner again, and walk into the old city later for some dessert.
