7th August- Pretty sailing along the Saone River in the direction of Lyon. Just outside the city we saw the Paul Bocuse restaurant. Once we were moored in Lyon we did a city tour beginning with the hill of Fourviere to see the beautiful cathedral and city views. Many wonderful mosaics on the interior walls. Then it was down to the old city below the hill. Went through one of the hidden lane ways called traboules used by the silk weavers to transport ...

The basilica of fourviere was really huge and Since it was Sunday we managed to catch the mass. It definitely feels different to see the priest and hear the chanting of the congregation. It was a relatively small group yet the sound echoed through the walls of the huge church.

... views of the city, a couple of rounds of Monopoly Deal and some pretty cool street art. We also had a night by the river and were devastated we couldn't squeeze in a drink at one of the many river boat bars that are dotted along the river so instead just sat on the edge and watched the world (and swans) go by. Coming into France has really shocked us in terms of how much more expensive everything ...
