I don't have a lot to say about the village other than it was quite beautiful in a classic village type of way. Rolling green hills, vines climbing up ancient stone buildings, etc.

... I balanced a plate on a stick on the palm of my hand not holding on. there was another one where you rolled it down your arms then it rolls down a stick then flipped it over. The man was really good at everything.
Swordfighting was really boring. All you had to do was hit a shield.
Last of all we made a shield painting and looked at a knight's tomb. The knight on the tomb looked like a normal person.

... with the two women had brought a dog with them. The dog was peeking out from under the table!!! The dog was very cute and another table also thought this was charming. Olivier did tell the owners that they needed to get the dog under the table a few times when it got too far out but otherwise, nobody seemed to mind. I thought it was so French.

... thro the village esp as it was harvest time. There was even a notice in the Spar shop warning of 'mouissons' on the road which, when we asked, worked out were combine harvesters! The gite is an original 1600's farmhouse, fully modernised (except no dishwasher, so the boys had to step on domestic chores!) and the nearby church is 13-14th C altho we didn't manage to look inside. Andy had done a few runs around the village and neighbourhood so gave us a nice ...
