A great stopover in Quarre-Les-Tombes with a little village square, few shops and cafe/bars. We were woken Sunday morning with many cyclists getting registered and prepared for the local monutain bike race, the village also has a small market on and we enjoyed a coffee watching it all go on in the ...

... I dropped off my backpack in my room. The greeter was as warm and friendly as anybody could wish. He spoke but a few words of English, so our conversation was in French. He was very patient with me, and we spoke for an hour over tea. He was very surprised to hear that I was a pilgrim and an American. He said that he has never had an American pilgrim at Vezelay. He also said that he rarely ever has run into such a young woman interested in the journey. ...
