When we left Tourny we went into Paris (always SUCH fun driving into Paris - we only got a little - not even lost, just turned around a bit - to pick up an order at Acastillage Diffusion, which is a large marine supply store with a branch on the Seine in the Paris suburbs. Having successfully picked up our order, which included a 5 step ladder and a new horn, plus some paint and a few odds and ends, we negotiated the Paris peripherique (think the old fashioned back-east ...

      Relaxing Reims

Another couple of gloriously sunny days in France were to be had at Reims. There is of course, the obligatory Cathedral, which in this case just happens to be one of the largest and more important ones in France as most French Kings were anointed here. The cathedral is rather awesome, even with the part shroud of scaffolding obscuring some of our views. ... some context a little later in today's story! Speaking of blends, after our tasting, we went to the Abbey of Dom Perignon - the first to ever blend grapes to create a champagne. Our last stop with Céline was at her friend's boutique champagne house, ...

      Epernay, France
After a disappointing day yesterday, we decided to target Epernay, a place we've been before on a previous trip, but one which we enjoyed.
The fact that it is quite close to our previous stop was an added attraction, and we were here and set-up by noon.
The people at the Reception were amazingly friendly and helpful, willingly spoke excellent English, and then admitted that they had spent time in Brisbane before.... They even added a couple ...

... by a lot of water only and set in what could only be described as a sauna, we had a very nice three course meal to break up all the ham and cheese baguettes we have had of late (budget, budget, budget... Boring boring boring). Terrine, foi gras, salmon in red wine sauce, pork in green peppercorn sauce, chips, amazing creme brule and apricot tart. Yum... Positively waddled out of there and all for 21Euros each.

Day two was our booking at Moet where we had the official ...
