It is truly a remarkable piece of architecture and dates back to 708AD, OMFG I was about to walk into something that is over 1,300 years old, how fricken cool. It is very gothic and very imposing. We wandered through the cobblestone village before heading through the house of the Knight Bertrand Duguesclin and his wife. Kinda tiny for a Knight and even his armour was small. Just in one church wow, but there was a lot more to it.
That took about 3 hours, my brother, sister and I got really bored.

The next morning which was day two we went to 2 different places.

      Gorgeous!
We were able to join an English speaking tour in the Abbey where we found out about the history.
There is so much because it was built in 900's.

I found it very interesting, not sure the kids did. They were very patient during the hour long tour but as soon as it ended we got the I'm hungry and when are ...

We set our GPS units and headed off to Omaha Beach which was where the US military landed on D Day June 6th 1944 with the loss of 9000 lives. As the celebrations fir the anniversary of this event has just past there are still hundreds of flags flying in the area which makes it all the more special. We visited the memorial and cemetery along with the museum and video footage which took half a day. It was extremely moving. There were staggering statistics such as ...
