    After a long and tiring journey we arrived at our campsite. Weather is lovely so went for an uphill walk in the evening. Just enjoying a beer in the bar now. Day by the pool tomorrow me thinks. Did a little reading by the van after breakfast and then dozed off. After lunch went and had a dip in the pool.     ... Hubert and he thought it wasn't necessary. He played well but no songs I could sing with so that was a shame. We had a good laugh and the people there were real nice, friendly and some of them interesting. With 2 lawyers and one prefect we were well represented by the law. Again it was 2 o'clock before we left and tomorrow we would be leaving. 14th Renato's 50th birthday I tried to phone my brother but they had already left for a day of sun and fun ...

    The Puy de Dome district is an area of extinct volcanoes in the southern part of France. We stayed at a village perched on the side of a rocky steep hillside called Saint Nectaire. It is famous for its certain types of cheese and they had a cheese shop there to try it.

    ... for Volvic waters. Booked in and set up the temperature read 30.5c I was melting, we made for the pool complex and spent the rest of the afternoon in and out of the water. Looking at the menu in the camp restaurant we decided to be lazy and eat in there, so a quick run out to fuel the motors, change and seated for 1900hrs, good stuff.     ... to see one of the professional riders from team Cofidis doing a training ride!! The scenery was stunning and the ride back down was a real thrill as we were able to let go of the brakes and cruise to the bottom.


    A couple of days was certainly not enough time to fully explore this beautiful area so we will definitely have to come back for longer, there are so many walks and cycles which could keep us amused for months! ...
