... for the group. Today was the last day of the Fete du Pain, and we were lucky enough to make our way inside the tent and make our own bread! Afterwards we hurried back for lunch in la cantine and an afternoon in the open deck bus. Despite the fresh air a few students managed a power nap... hopefully it wasn't too long and they will sleep tonight thanks to all the walking we did. We stopped for ice-cream (and coffee for us adults) on the way back to school.
Paris, Île-de-France, France paris2009... and frites restaurant where we'd eaten the night before with Mommy & Daddy. Sam's call...he likes good food just like his Daddy. The Metro brought us back to Denfert-Rochereau just in time for more glace from Amorino. Then it was back home for a bubble bath, a Mimi Massage, a bedtime story about Monsieur Antoine and a back sctratch until they fell asleep, 11pm. So now the hour is 1am and this guest blogger is tres fatigue. Signing off for a bon nuit, dormir avec les anges ...

Paris, Île-de-France, France dzarren... like a speed demon, cause that was from the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre. And that's faaaar. After searching about the glass pyramid and not finding Chelsea, I just went in (through the special stairway cause we had bought museum passes while walking down the Champs Elysees yesterday). I made my way through all the stuff in the Napoleon Hall and into the Denon Gallery. Whilst browsing the many paintings, I ran into Chelsea and her family. I think I ...
Paris, France mferrand... had a very good (yes, expensive) French dinner at another cafe. (Not many of the French or visitors to Paris eat inside during the summer and it is enjoyable to be outside watching the people of Paris stroll by.) Killian had snails (sorry, just couldn't get by what they were to try them!) and others enjoyed french onion soup, chicken, beef, and wonderful creme brulee! On Saturday we set out from the hotel after a breakfast of croissants, bread ...
Paris, France evans8735... were slightly taken aback by the size. Europeans have a much different outlook on size then Americans do. Our room was the size of a small closet, and the rest of the room was probably the size of a large walk-in closet. We were just fine with it...considering we were students...with little money..backpacking across Paris...but there is no way my family of six could have stayed there! After freshening up...what decided to become offical "tourists" and go and see all of the sights. Our ...
Paris, France mackieineurope... of red wine. Around the corner was one of the many glacee stands and I had had my mouth watering for some so I ordered a scoop of hazelnut. It was yummy and refreshing on this warm afternoon!! From here we trekked to the Arc de Triomphe again, this time to walk the 284 steps to the top and see the surrounding city. What a view! Of course, the climb up the stairs nearly killed me (I thought I was in better shape!) but it was ...
Paris, France vbailey2... I didn't bring my camera with because the website said that cameras weren't allowed in the stadium. Guess what everyone and their mother had? A camera. So I don't have any pictures of that, but I have some other cool photos, mostly of dead people.
Paris, France lastork... how the artist used the qualities of the materials themselves, rather than completely altering them for his own purposes.) Here's Marina. I find it really hard to choose a specific masterpiece that was my favourite in Orsay. I fell in love with the bronze bust of two Gracque - I think that's how their name is spelled - brothers. From what we learnt, they tried to make a land reform in Rome in order to give more land to peasants instead of the nobles. Not surprisingly they ...
Paris, France boosheli... religion. Catholics know how to do it up in style. The tourists cheapened the experience but I feel so honored to have been able to see it. Walked through St. Germain-de-Pres (the Cambridge to a Boston) and I got us turned around. Map blunder #1 for Lee. The weather dropped to freezing by the time we reached La Tour Eiffel, the lines took forever, but it was amazing. Good view of the City of Lights from the top! Like a lot of the Paris attractions ...
