... s another thing we love about Belgium (or Europe in general really). You can drink beer just about anywhere, at any time of day. In a park. On the steps of a building. In the Grote Markt (Grand Place). Anywhere. And it is not abused. This would never go down in Australia. It just wouldn’t work. ... a wheat beer with a semi-sweet taste but not too bad
Gordon Finest Gold strong blond, 10%, alcohol taste a bit strong at first, but surprisingly didn't notice after a while. You could not drink too many of these.
Duuel Special Belgian beer, 8.5%, sweet, smoky flavour, OK to drink 1 or 2 but that would be it
Carlsberg Imported, 5.5%, well it's Carlsberg
Bruges Zot Lager, 6.0%, a local beer, a bit to hoppy for me

... The story behind the statue is that a little boy saved the city by peeing on a fire and preventing the city from destruction. So they built a statue in his honor and it is now the symbol of the European Union. Also saw the town hall building that is located in the city square. It's a gothic style building that dates back to the 13th century. The gothic buildings are beautiful, my favorite building architecture so far! Off to Amsterdam ...
