... young. You can see from what it's like from Wok's photo which was taken at about 5pm, and maybe the fact that it's Friday adds to the numbers. There is a very casual atmosphere, as you can see from the people sitting with their legs hanging out of the second storey window. After we saw these young people, we saw the interesting sculpture of the angel wearing a gas mask. We went to the Tourist Office to ask about it, ...

... recommended, but at the end of the day what really came home for me was this: simply sitting over looking the square, drinking a beer, and watching how slow everyone moved! I'm not kidding you they just sit and sit and sit and do nothing more than converse and smoke and sit some more...for hours. We never do that...even when we do something for enjoyment it is stuffed in a box of acceptable length and pace and then there is the next thing on the list to do. It most certainly took me ...

It was very easy to get about Brussels, my hotel was a couple of minutes from the station adjacent to the old city. It was an unusually sunny day when I arrived and I really enjoyed breakfasting at a taverne in Grote Markt (Grand place) admiring the lovely old buildings and watching the day commence. I had a freshly baked waffle with jam and Earl Grey tea. The waiter was very abrupt and rude but despite that I enjoyed sitting there in the ...

... even stranger.
I was able to hang out with a friend from high school while here because she was studying abroad. She gave us some great tips on the city. We took some advice and went up a parking garage to see the city. We were able to see the Eiffel Tower of Belgium called the Atomium which is a huge metal cube which balls at each corner. It represents an iron atom built for the world's fair of 1958. I was not thoroughly impressed by Belgium except for waffles and chocolate!
