    They were applauded and financially supported by a huge crowd and one of the musicians had to warn parents to gather their children to allow a skip lorry down the street.

    ... on the lawn in front of the chateau; foie gras, ,bread, olive and duck- based spreads, strawberries, cherries and a glass of wine. We sat under a huge tree and once again we were thinking - "C'est la vie".

    And then it was back to Bordeaux arriving around 2.30pm. After a lazy afternoon during which we found a laundromand, had a read of our novels, it was time for dinner and to get ready for our next move tomorrow, to Luchon.

    ... Emilion and it was a great place to sit, relax and enjoy some great food, and that we did. It was a late lunch, close to 5pm actually, so more like dinner, on a shady terrace at the foot of the church literally carved out of the limestone rock by Benedictine monks a thousand years ago. We then said goodbye to Saint Emilion before heading out up the road a bit further to our overnight accommodation near Libourne.

    ... downloaded screen shots of a Google Cycle route from the coast to the Formula 1 hotel we are staying at tonight. Only problem is that you can't look at both of the maps at the same time, and they also don't look the same. The Google cycle route maps are in 'bicycle routes' mode, whereas the gps Google maps is in normal mode - so difficult sometimes to translate the route onto where yo are on the gps map.
