Campanile - Bordeaux - Gradignan

We arrived in Bordeaux in the dark but this time no cliffs and a nice bright campsite. It was 30 minutes outside of Bordeaux so we relaxed that night and went into town the next day. We had a scheduled beginning time of 4:10 pm, because Helen's congregation in Grand Rapids, Michigan wanted to listen to the ceremony over the phone. This morning I worked in the hotel room, and then drove to the Audoins' home again where I had been invited for lunch along with Hervé Dubois and Helen Hayes who will be married tomorrow. Helen doesn’t speak French, and the Audoins don’t speak English, so Hervé and I did a lot of translating during the meal, which was very enjoyable once again.

... Mr. Mrs. Bernal were there too, we had a very enjoyable evening, catching up on news, comparing notes about the recent convention we had in Normandy and planning for the future. French dinner can last quite a while, but several of us were tired from the day's activities so we finished the meal at around 9:00 pm, and went our separate ways; looking forward to meeting again soon.

Well, this will be my last entry. I was hoping to have updated more than i did, but i also thought i'd have far more internet than i did! Oh well, i think you've all got a picture of what it was like over here and i'm sad and ready to come back. here's a few more pics to leave you with and i'll be sure to let everyone see all 1,000 pictures we took! ... we visited two wineries. We were given tours and information on their wines and winemaking, and tasted some of their wines. We also got to visit Chateau Margaux - ok, the bus stopped out the front just for a look, but it was great to get a glimps.

... with sunflower and grape - I mean raisin. Of course, the sunflowers are dried shadows of their former beautiful selves which is quite sad for me - I was looking forward to seeing their smiling faces follow me throughout the day. C’est la vie!
