    Race Day

A travel blog entry by legoodtimesroll on Jul 10, 2015

... we found Graham easily going through his pre race rituals( which means multiple visits to the toilet) It was soon time to put on the wet suit and join the other GB old boys. Although all competitors there is a commaradery between the group of about 10 "old boys" which were the last wave to go off. They paraded from their pen to the start line and into the beautiful clear water of Lake Geneva. 5,4,3,2,1, and they are off. Graham is out in front , well ...

... and I would have to pay again. Anyway with Graham in charge "the operation tandem on roof" went very well and we got out of the car park and back to the tranquility of the campsite. Geneva was just so busy, the traffic horrendous and parking ridiculously expensive. It was great for people watching, ...

... cities we've been in. The streets are wider, the buildings more modern, and I don't know how to explain it - but the feel was more European rather than French if that makes sense. We discovered a number of monuments and gardens, as well as ruins. After a while we found ourselves in front of the old thermal baths, which is now used as a tourist centre. These are not to be confused with the really old thermal baths, which were in the ...

"Did our bus just pass us?"

... enjoying the soft grass in my bare feet, I stepped on a bee and got stung. So much for enjoying nature.
On our way back, 13 of us were waiting for our bus at the stop when a bus just rolls on by and doesn't stop. Someone asked, "Did our bus just pass us?" and we realized that yeah, that was our bus and another one doesn't come for three hours. Apparently, even if there is a large group waiting at a bus stop, if you don't wave down the bus or wave your ...
