... who we met yesterday on the bus. It was nice chatting with them. We saw some interesting things but I couldn't manage to get many pictures from the bus. We saw the newer, modern section of Paris as well as the Place de la Bastille, a couple of train stations, the Palais Omnisport de Paris-Bercy, the Hotel de Ville and the largest library I have ever seen, the National Library of France. It is 4 huge modern structures with ...

... brought back memories of Amy and Matthew doing the same in 2010.

We strolled back through St Germain, stopping briefly for macaroons, and arriving back at the apartment in time for the Townes’ to head back to CDG. A great catch-up, and they made it safely to Lyon by nightfall.

Later when we returned to the Eiffel Tower I told Tammy if we were accosted by one of ...

Today we visited the Pierre Lachaise Cemetry famous for interring over 1 million people including Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison. The Cemetery was established in 1804 and is over 110 acres. It is a massive place and we walked around looking at and reading inscriptions on the graves and vaults, most of which were very dilapidated. Back on the metro to the Marais area for shopping, walking, shopping, walking and ...

Planning the trip , we knew rain was a possibility, but we had no idea the volume that would present itself the last three days. We knew we would be seeing chateaux in the Loire, but we also anticipated lovely bike rides in the gently rolling hills followed by canoe trips in the Valley rivers. We didn't plan on nearly the entirety of France being under siege - not by the English or Romans, but by weather. The rain started Thursday morning and continued without ...
