... the corner and there it was, shining with all its glory, high in the sky, the Eiffel Tower. Ash said it took her breath away and brought a tear to her eye. She said it was way more beautiful than in any picture. We walked underneath and witnessed the huge queues waiting to go up. We took some snaps and continued. It was freezing, literally(-1)! We found a restaurant nearby and had some pizza and hot chocolate although we were still pretty full ...

Both of us agreed that we would probably prefer the plane to be headed back to Australia such was our fatigue. Ultimately a nap later that afternoon soon had us feeling better and ready for adventure through the northern cities of Europe. Our air bnb place was in a very handy location just fifteen minutes walk to Notre Dame ...

... I knew that "boeuf" is beef so that also felt safe. No surprise...both of our meals were delicious. For dessert, we'd gotten a tip from our new friends from Austin that the souffle was wonderful, so we ordered that. We had to order it at the beginning of our meal because it takes about 30 minutes to prepare, so we did and it was one of the smartest things we did in two weeks. In fact, when the souffle came, the two French men sitting next to us gave me a knowing look, flashed ...
