Bagnoles de l'orne is a lovely French Town set alongside a lake in the middle of some stunning Normany Countryside. The Town has plenty of Shops to allow you to buy postcards etc to remind you of your stay in Normandy and lovely cafes and places to have a meal and also plenty of Hotels to stay the night or a few nights. ... In one of the photos there is a large wooden wheel. This was used for hauling up supplies for the abbey. It works by men walking inside, similar to a mouse wheel, and hauling a sled up the wall of the abbey. Obviously the island is a must to visit but just as interesting is to contemplate how the abbey and surrounding buildings were actually constructed so many years ago.

After watching the race and having rested as well as possible on Sunday in Le Mans, we set off early on the Monday morning, wary that our bodies had not benefited from any decent sleep over the last 3 nights. Le Mans camping is a battle against loud music, fireworks and the drone of motor sport - literally at all hours.

Today we started our 4 day trip to Le Mans and back.
We got started at 11am local time having disembarked from the Jersey to St.Malo ferry.
We had lunch in Pontorson and one or two coffee breaks along the way.
We got to Ernee and out hotel at around 7pm French time, exhausted. About 75 miles covered today.
The hotel had messed up our room booking but they managed to put us all in one room. We went out to try and buy some food ...
