... tourists during the summer, being renowned for its shopping (lots of high priced cute little boutiques and gift shops peppered throughout the town) and one of Brittany's oldest religious festivals in July which is evidently not to be missed. But it's 6pm on a September evening and they've all gone back to Paris and left this cute little place to a mere handful of us. The downside, however, is that not all the establishments are open for business ...

The first day of the European off-season and a be-au-ti-ful sunny blue sky day! As of today, the crowds get thinner and the prices get cheaper!

I finished my book today "The Little Paris Bookshop" by Nina George. A fabulous novel. There are French recipes at ...

... any wind for 90% of the crossing. The first day it poured down from the off nearly all day. With rain, comes wind (even I know that and I'm not a weatherman) and wind makes the sea quite rough - well actually VERY BLOODY ROUGH. But we battled forward waiting for this clear spell which didn't actually arrive until darkness fell around 11pm that night - the sea was still quite choppy but in the dark you can't tell because it's pitch black, so ...

Last Day in Camaret

... to cover it at around 6 knots on average, about two and a half days if all goes well. I will update the blog tonight so if after a week there as been no more updates of our progress we've probably been eaten by fish and the adventure ended somewhere in Biscay ! We joined Ted and Chris for farewell drinks at the 'Donegan' and hopefully we will catch up with them later in the year in the Med. Camaret has been lovely but the time is now right to move ...
