The bell ringing starts half an hour later in Avignon than in Aix-en-Provence. Then you start to hear the opening of window shutters as they are unlatched and concertinered (is this a word?) back into the casings. Within the walls of Avignon there are 8 churches and here goes the third one playing quite a nice tune which I don't recognise. As it happens we passed by Spring the restaurant we went to last Saturday night and I was able to pick up Darren's hat he left behind, then into a soft furnishing shop for a cushion for ...
... we are in Paris and there is another train in 2 hours. We had lunch near the station and that took nearly 2 hours and back to the station and onwards to Giverny.
Apart from Rob and Penny fearing incarceration by the Railway police when they couldn't produce their tickets (because we had them in another carriage), we arrived in Giverny. Now to find our way to Monet's garden. ...
