This morning we went to Leonardo da Vinci's house, Chateau du Clos Luce in Amboise and saw the house and the gardens. There was a cat at the house which had killed a pigeon on the balcony in the morning and when we were in Leonardo's bedroom, the cat came and sat on the bed, which is apparently quite normal. Someone in the group commented that maybe it was Leonardo reincarnated as a cat. ...

    Avoiding the tolls!

Bill decided we would go back to Calais avoiding the tolls to make the most of the scenery. The scenery was amazing - sunflower fields, corn bales, blue sky and chateaux. The city of Blois was a lovely surprise. It was so beautiful with so much to see, our 30minute stop off didn't really do it justice. Good job we didn't give in and stay for longer though as we only made it to Calais with about 10mins to spare! There was a heart stopping moment when we were ...
