I'm a tenderfoot when it comes to experiencing typhoons. Davao, my city, happens to be one of the few fortunate places in the Philippines that nature has kept safe: it’s typhoon-free. And I’ve always prayed it stays that way.

Although storms of different strengths and magnitude — tropical depressions, tropical storms, typhoons and super typhoons — never fail to visit the Philippines every year, I’ve had ...
Quezon City, Rizal, Philippines arnobs66... parituhatta henkea vetavilla areenoilla aamu kahdeksalta ja ne jatkuvat aina yomyohaan. Urheilua ja heikkohermoisille sopivaa? Ei todellakaan. Raakaa ja verenhimoisille? Ehdottomasti!

Ollaan keretty tahan mennessa katsastamaan parit kaupungin suurimmista ostoskeskuksista seka koluamaan "intramuros" (vanhakaupunki) seka kaupungin keskuspuisto. Joka paikkaan on pitka matka ja liikenne taalla on hyvinkin "Aasialainen". Kaista on abstrakti kasite ja ...

Quezon City, Luzon, Philippines deadventurious... after just eating a few bits of food she would have to lay down. You could see her breathing was labored and her heart was pounding hard. By the time we made the decision to put her to sleep she was hardly getting on her feet at all and barely eating anything. It was just a matter of a week or so before the inevitable would happen and there was no point prolonging her agony. Hard to believe 18 years went by so fast. She was a great cat.
Manila, Luzon, Philippines rjdemp... Ward's personal collection has been gathered from trips around Asia, such as gongs from Medan, a money god wood carving from Yunnan province and a sun carving from Venice, Italy. "Influences come from such diverse memories as my favorite backpacker visiting a cafe in Lijiang, or listening to music at the former Sanctum in Intramuros or a small jazz club in the back streets of Tokyo, which I used to frequent in the '70s," he says ...
Manila, Luzon, Philippines happysheep... where tehre was a liturgy so we couldn't go in. After some pics in front of it, we got a cab as it was starting to rain (it ended up pouring until the evening) and went to the 3rd biggest mall in the world, called Mall of Asia. Here Dominique split up from us as she did some girl shopping while Dustin and I walked around, entered random stores, and just cahtted about his life in the Philippines. The cultural differences are drastic but these islands are his new ...
Manila, Luzon, Philippines mambo_italiano... an area of opulence that is quite frankly disgusting compared to the hovels outside the walls. It may have been my imagination, but even the air smelt like it was imported. The sporting facilities were second to none. Better than what we have at the fleet base in WA. We played everything known to mankind. Lawn Bowls, Badminton, Tennis, Swimming, Cricket, Soccer, Hockey, Rugby and all of it on imaculate pitches and courts. Soccer was delayed until late afternoon so I ...
Manila, Luzon, Philippines jock298... get about that travel? I mean some travel agencies will offer and convince people to travel by taking a plane and pays more. Of course that's business and they earn from it. For me I usually browse the Internet for trips and expect that that is not the exact information. I usually ask the locals for direction or the police since they usually know it. In Beijing, from Capital International Airport there are many ways to get in the city of ...
Quezon City, Philippines rbenotapa... if we couldn't open the vents at the top of the bus to get some air flowing in. He just looked at me like I was crazy for asking and told me no. I asked, "Why?" but to no avail. About 10 minutes later, one of the drivers walked back and opened up the vent. It was a nice ride after that. We got dropped off early in the morning, and two jeepney rides later, we arrived in Banaue. Once we all checked into a room, I found out there was no ATM there and had to back track ...
