... The next-door neighbour kept 4 roosters in their yard (what for??) and 2 dogs on their balcony overlooking the yard. When the roosters weren't crowing, the dogs were barking at them. ... on a weekend to Banaue and Sagada. Now, I admit that I am not the best travel companion...sit me in any moving vehicle and i'll be asleep within 10mins. Well, with Maddie I have met my match. At 10pm we boarded our 11hour bus to Banaue, home of the world heritage Ifugao rice terraces. As a good Queen Margaret girl, I have attended my fair share of assemblies and prize givings. The Tahanan Recognition Ceremony I attended today was the most heart felt, inspirational and moving ceremony I have ever experienced. The recognition ceremony is an annual event held to celebrate the girls and their achievements over the year - awards for writing, sewing, maths, science, religion etc. The Tahanan board members are invited, along with other donors. ...
