... 00am the train rolls into a humid 38 degree Kolkata at midday more than four hours late. I ask a taxi driver to take me to a guest house costing 500-600 rupees however his English isn't good but he seems to suggest he doesn't know a single place for that price - strange given that it's a city of over 14 million people. So we'd decided to make our last stop in India Kolkata, West Bengal. A state with plenty of British History and an easy (and cheap) place to fly to Bangkok from. Originally, when we set about making these plans through India we planned for a three week trip only to later revise this making it 6 weeks purely to catch a glimpse of the Holi festival. (Hindu religious festival of colour)
