Rideshare to Toronto

A travel blog entry by starlagurl

Waseq (aka Rick) was a little late picking me up, apparently there was traffic and he went to the wrong street corner, far away from where I was standing.

We picked up his three girlfriends, Heba, and I can't remember the other two. One of the ladies was from the Philippines, where she trained to be a nurse. She came here to take a get …

St. Lawrence Market and Canoe

Today is the day that we go to St. Lawrence Market and Canoe, we didn't really have a whole lot planned for today.

The St. Lawrence Market is an insane mob on Saturdays, don't go there. The breakfast we had was kind of gross. There was a string quartet which was nice, and I bought some fresh juice, carrot-apple-ginger, and that was gross …

Niagara Falls - Believe it or not!

After a good sleep we drove down to Niagara Falls yesterday. Unfortunately it was pouring with rain and the traffic in Canada seems to constantly be congested. Fortunately it cleared for a few hours and we were able to see the falls. I have to say, seeing them for the first time is quite magical. Just the sheer amount of water and the roar of the …

    Spring break in Toronto

    from anonymous

For Easter break, my daughter, her girlfriend, my girlfriend and I went to Toronto. We stayed at Cambridge Suites for three nights and thought it was a terrific hotel. The location was great, the big rooms were nice, the delivered continental breakfasts were a bonus, and we would stay there again. We thought that the play "Hairspray" was fantastic. We enjoyed Second City, buying tickets the day of the show at half the price at the place across the street from Eaton Center. We ate at Leoni's Restaurant, which is next door to Second City. What a delicious meal! Toronto has so much to offer. We will be back!

    Cambridge Suites Hotel

    from anonymous

My wife and I just spent a wonderful weekend in Toronto. I was in town on business and decided to surprise my wife by upgrading to the Cambridge Suites over a regular hotel. I had stayed at the Cambridge Suites several years ago, and remember the fantastic level of service they provided. Nothing has changed. From the size of the rooms, to the evening bed turndown service. Definitely a place you want to stay when you are visiting Toronto.

Huge room, great desk and internet access.

    from snoBoardBunny

The Cambridge Suites was overall an excellent hotel. Central in location and an excellent restaurant with friendly and accomodating staff. I was able to order a pasta meal with special unlisted sauce due to my allergies - and they were so happy to do it; we were very lucky to have had the time to eat at the adjoining restaurant. The suite was huge and great value for the price. I loved the turn down service and the chocolates that they put on our pillow. The bathroom was actually a cheater ensuite that also separated the shower area so that we could both be in one part of the bathroom. The sink portion was large and had its own closets. There was easily room for four(4) people in the sink portion outside of the main shower and toilet room. The suite had a great amenities and free internet access and was very spacious. There are two tv's in the suite, so you can conceivably watch two shows at the same time - one in the sitting area and one in the bedroom. The bed is actually separated by dividing doors from the sitting area, as well as a door to the sink area on the other side. We got a corner unit, so it was very spacious and beautifully laid out. The staff was very courteous and friendly. The most disappointing feature is the free breakfasts. There is not much choice and the breakfast area is small.

If you stay on the weekend, you are hard-pressed to find someplace to sit down and most people end up grabbing something small and taking it back to their room. But hey- the breakfast is free, so you can also go elsewhere if you decide that the food is too boring. It's plain, but for the most part, it's convenient for people on the run. Overall a great hotel at a great value. We would definitely stay at the Cambridge Suites hotel again.

    Luxury, Location and Service All-in-One!

    from WorldTravellerMan

We stayed at the Cambridge Suites Hotel for six nights in June 2003. It is simply the best deal in Totonto and was worth every penny to this frugal couple! The breadfast buffet was fresh, plentiful and delicious.

The service throughout the day was outstanding, inc. the evening room freshening. The entire hotel is very clean and exceptionally well-maintained by a service-oriented staff. The suite was quite nice!

The king bed was very comfortable, the sofa and chairs were great and the kitchen area was compact but stylish. The view from our suite was simply stunning. This location is very convenient to shopping, restaurants and entertainment. There are two nearby subway stations, and the hotel is connected to the underground.

    Loved it!

My wife and I stayed at the Cambridge Suites for 6 nights. We were in Toronto for our annual General Conference. The United Pentecostal Church International, held it's Conference in the Air Canada Center, September 23- 28, 2003. It was easy to get to the meeting each night.

Best for us was a Taxi, right from the front door of the Cambridge Suites, to the entrance of the Arena. Our room's were very nice and comfortable. I say room's because, each room you rent at Cambridge Suites is a Two Room Suite. Breakfast brought right to our room each morning, at a time that we set. No extra cost, it is part of the wonderful experience that you will have at Cambridge Suites. The World Renoun, Eaton Center, is only 1 1/2 blocks from your room. Wow, what a shoping, and eating place. Also, walk across the entry way of the Hotel, go down a flight of stairs, and you begin a tour of what is called "The Path." It is blocks and blocks of underground shoping. It goes under, and is part of, all the major stores, resturants and food stores in the Down Town of Toronto. The Cambridge Suites put us in the right place in Toronto, for all these things, including riding Subways and Streetcars. We had not rode on a Streetcar sence we were very young. The Subway took us out to many out lying areas, one of which was Greek Town. My wife is Greek, and it was a pleasure to her to go out there and eat good Greek Cusine. When you go to Toronto, stay at the Cambridge Suites. Yoiu will be glad you did. Oh yes, the room price was very satisfactory. HHD

    Excellent Hotel

    from anonymous

We loved this hotel. We had four adults comfortably sharing one suite.

The room was clean and spacious. Check-in and check-out were quick and all the staff we met were very friendly. The complimentary bottled water was very welcome.

There was plenty of variety in the continental breakfast served on the second floor. We took breakfast in our room on one morning and again there was plenty on offer: cereal, juice, fruit, muffins etc.

The hotel was conveniently situated for the Eaton Centre. For other attractions the hotel is next to the PATH and well served by the TTC subway. The "Friends Convenience" store is just behind the hotel and stays open late.

All the reviews we had read before staying at this hotel were positive, except for one which mentioned homeless people living around the hotel.

We saw many homeless people on the corner of Richmond and Victoria but none of them caused any hassle.

In general, we were very impressed with this hotel and we were very glad that we chose to book it through Expedia at a very favourable rate. Having stayed at the Westin Harbour Castle before, on our return we would choose the Cambridge Suites due to its location, breakfast and friendly staff.

    Outstanding!!!!

This hotel has a wonderful ambiance, spacious suites with superior service from turn down to complimentary breakfast served in your room.

Just Love It!!! Five Star Hotel with very affordable pricing!!!!

    Great Service!

    from anonymous

Everything about our stay here was perfect. The location is fabulous.

The service was excellent from our arrival to departure. This is the best hotel for the money you would find anywhere. It has all the extras that you find at a luxury hotel - without the luxury price. Breakfast is free and served to your room! Turn down service with chocolate and bottled water in the evening. Yes, the rooms are small, but well furnished and very functional. We will definately go back!

    A great place to stay!!

    from bigmacPortHuron_MI

My husband and I spent the Valentines weekend at the Cambridge Suites and loved it! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a great dinner in the restaurant and enjoyed being pampered with the 'extras' offered by the hotel. The underground PATH network was just across the street and it was so convenient in the frigid Toronto winter.

    Cambridge Suites

    from anonymous

We've stayed at the Cambridge Suites twice in the last year and will be there again this summer. It is centrally located, the staff is very helpful, and the accomodations are efficiently spacious. The continental breakfast can be delivered to your room or enjoyed in the breakfast room. The bar is open later in the evening; we had dessert, coffee and cordials there one evening. Winter and early spring rates are a downright bargain. The PATH is connected right to the hotel and the concierge was very accomodating with some requests.
