... is completely different!... Also the hostel owner in Tainan took me many places and she always made me welcome, the small hostel felt like home for a while, another typhoon chased me down whilst here and also I experienced a mini earthquake one day (minor earthquakes are fairly common in Taiwan) it was enough to rattle the sliding doors and only lasted a few seconds, but a strange experience! I wondered if I was just daydreaming! So again I've found myself in a country ...

... as Ming, Qing, Japanese and Kuomintang (China's Nationalist Party) and had a great feel to the place.

In the evening, we went back to the vegan restaurant and didn't order stinky tofu. However, someone else did and it really stank. Luckily, he ate it quickly and that helped the smell to dissipate. We could still smell it when we got back to the hotel. It's truly something not to be forgotten!

... just one day in Kaohsiung.

We began our day be learning that the forecast Typhoon is now going to mostly miss the island, as it seems to be doing an abrupt right hand turn before getting here. Oh, weather. We started with shopping stop no. 3 to a pearl shop today.  I am always amazed by the sales at these places.  Especially the pitch at the beginning.  Pretty much whatever they are trying to sell will remedy some sort of health issue that everyone in the audience have or will have at some point in their life.  And of course, you can not escape the beauty pitch.  Whether you eat it or apply to your skin, it will do wonders from anti aging to ...
