    ... birthday! Of course we had no idea, but it was lovely spending the evening with them and Jake. Had amazing home cooked food and another fabulous pie from Uncle Roger and then went to sleep. I had instructions to not let the cats in the room downstairs - but after being followed by Sirius, the big, soppy, black panther kitty, I couldn't resist just letting him in for a minute and stroked him ...

    ... at this most eastern point for a side trip to Traverse City, on Lake Michigan.

    It was about a 3 hour flight, with a third of that flying over Lake Michigan.

    But with all the cinemas across the country, what was the draw to turn East for the first time on the trip since flying Melbourne ...

    ... that Roger had including a snow mobile - that sounds like fun. I cannot believe how much snow they have here in the winter. I also learned that mountain lions are actually huge - like the size of a proper lion - and hide up in trees. I'm glad that I didn't know this camping! I had a moment of worry when I heard a rustling in the trees and saw a cat - it was huge but it was only the cute family kitty rolling ...

    Time to head South.

    ... of shrimp and clams. Unfortunately, on the way back to the RV we hit a deer and it did some damage to the front of my car. We can still drive the car. It will have to wait to get fixed until we get home in November. The deer it did not fare so well.
