Perfect location, lovely room, great shower, elegant breakfast room, and delicious breakfast - that sums up Hotel Calzaiuoli. We were able to enjoy the Uffizi Museum, then come back to the hotel and freshen up before our next outing. We loved this hotel and would highly recommend it.

Excellent location

Great hotel, clean, comfortable, spacious rooms and bathrooms. Superb breakfast buffet. Location couldnt be better-close to the Ponte Vecchio and Duomo. Easy walk across the city. Thought the staff friendly, though not overly so. Watch out for pickpockets with cameras looking like tourists near the Uffizi and Duomo.

What a perfect location in Florence - in between the Duomo an Ponte Vecchio. Large bedroom with very comfortable bed. Bathroom was small.

We had a room overlooking the street. With the windows closed you could not hear the street noise. We cracked the window open every night and did not mind the noise. The staff was very helpful. One negative note - they had a garage park our van and it was returned with a dent. They sent us to the garage and said "they'd take care of it". The garage denied all responsibility. We felt the hotel should have been more of an ombudsman for us.

Awful service, okay room, good location

The hotel was in a perfect Florence location - right in the center of everything. Unfortunately the staff was generally very rude and did not make you feel welcome. When asking for dinner reccomendations or if we needed a reservation we were basically told to find out for ourselves.

The rooms were fine... nothing special... pretty clean, but again nothing special.

This hotel is a pleasant surprise. Very unassuming from the outside and the dark little lobby may be misleading at first. However, the rooms are spacious! Request for a room facing the back if you would like to avoid the street noise and if you are in a higher floor, you would get the view of the Duomo as well! The bathrooms are clean and good-sized. Decent breakfast is served on the first floor every morning. The rooms appear to be newly renovated. Location is perfect for a first time visitor to Florence.

Fabulous hotel in Florence!

Hotel Calzaiuoli went above and beyond our expectations. The location is smack dab in the middle of everything, making walking a lot easier. Our room was soooooo cute. Looked like something Laurie would design on Trading Spaces. We were also impressed by the size, as our rooms on past vacations in other European cities have been the size of a shoebox. I highly recommend this hotel!

This centrally located hotel is undergoing renovation, but the new rooms are spacious and classicly modern with lux touches and wonderfully sized bathrooms.

The mattresses are made of wool and which provided the best sleep after much shopping siteseeing and eating during our stay in Florence.

The staff was very friendly and helpful in that relaxed italian way. Would highly recommend this hotel for fussy travellers who don't want to pay Four Seasons prices

We left Vernazza at 730am to catch a train from Monterosso - Pisa - Florence. Jeff got us some croissants at the local bakery while we waited for our first train. We arrived in Florence around 11am.
