    Amazing Staff and Perfect Location

    Reviewed May 24, 2013

This hotel is located right by the lake in the old quarter with plenty of restaurants nearby.

The rooms are nice and comfortable and breakfast is very good.

The best thing about this hotel is the amazing staff. Thuy Morning and Thuy Afternoon are just exceptional receptionist who will go out of their way to do anything to assist.

They managed to change train tickets we had been sold in HCMC to soft tourist class for us and the porter even escorted us to the train station, changed our tickets and put us in our carriage on the train. This is above and beyond the service I would expect anywhere.

We unexpectedly returned to the hotel having had a very bad experience on a Hanoi Bay Cruise with The Real Kangaroo Cafe and the staff were so kind and gave us an upgraded room for our stay.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough it really is a perfect base for exploring Hanoi.

Thursday evening we managed a Skype to N&G and Alex, and Philip & Caroline. The other old people haven't yet mastered it. You know who you are! The Coffee and Tea bought in Luang Prabang made it home in once piece along with the engagement DVD. Philip has Bali plans which means Volcano's permitting we have to sort ours out.

We had the awkward triple bunk at the back of the sleeper. An obese American took two thirds of it and slept all the way despite us climbing over him to get to the toilet. We arrived around 8:00, climbed off the bus and on the back of two moto taxis for a hair raising tour of Hanoi's old Quarter. There are no Tuktuks in Vietnam. Traffic lights …

Good morning you beautiful country. I have been in Vietnam for almost a week and I fall more in love with this country everyday. It's been 16 years since I have last been in Vietnam and so much has changed since then. On the streets of Ho Chi Minh or Saigon, I can defiantly tell there has been lots of modernizations that have happened since I've …

... of old sweat (like the inside of an old boxing glove) and despite the efforts of our three Australian roommates to make friends we head out tired and in a daze to explore Hanoi old town by night. After trying some traditional Vietnamese food (see picture) we managed to get ourselves lost in no time at all amongst a huge night market. An hour of aimless wondering and ...
