The Latvian girl at the hotel told me there is a bus that maybe or maybe not runs to Nicosia but service ends at 5pm. She also said there is maybe a stop in town for or maybe not. Either way I am going to try to find my way there so I can see the capital and hopefully there is something to hold my interest. She told me most people are like me...here for a day and a half on their way to the Middle East. Cyprus is an extremely cheap bridge between the ...
... of a National Enquirer at Publix because fringe kooks don't want the other 99% of us to live our lives. I am kinda partial to the European way of just letting it all hang out in the open. If you want to look, go for it. If not, look away and shut up. Amazing that in 20 years Bulgaria has opened up and we continue to go backwards.
And after leaving Billa, turn right and next door is a tiny storefront selling the latest in cheap ...
All packing and cleaning is underway !!! Only 36 or so hours left before we hit the tarmac at Larnaca !! Just need to get the dog wormed and de-flead (not that he has them !), groomed and then buy him a travel box for the flight !
Fingers crossed all our accommodation arrangements have been made for Athens and Samothraki !
... fort ended with us parking the car and eating lunch...a mere
100 yards from the castle. From Larnaka we headed back towards
Limassol in order to visit Ancient Amathous and Kourion. Kourion,
although at the end of the journey, was perhaps my favourite. Here I
saw the ruins of the temple to Apollo as the sun was going down. It ...
... from thirst. There are few dog shelters on the island but they just don't have the capacity or funds to cope with the number of dogs being brought in or picked up. The Sotira Dog Shelter near Ayia Thekla is run by a Cypriot lady called Eleni. A London-trained opera singer, she has devoted her life to helping these animals. Unfortunately for many of the dogs their lives are only extended for a couple of weeks after arriving at the shelter. If they are ...

(Most of the times I do that too) There is no need to travel for so many hours to reach Varadero in Cuba for instance, if you have the opportunity to book a nice hotel and spend it in the Mediterranean Sea !! Agia Napa is very close to Protaras, and it also has nice beaches, but it is mostly preferable by younger ages. ....not that if a family goes there, they won't have nice holidays ...
PARALIMNI, Cyprus greekcypriotHolidays in Cyprus !!! I have booked part of our holidays this summer at CAPO BAY HOTEL. We have been to Protaras several times, and we love it here. We have also stayed at AYIA NAPA a couple of times - a near by touristic village, but I am very fond of this beach here. Most of the times when down in Cyprus, I book here for a week. We are here on a Half Board basis, and it is quite expensive. The hotel is ok, but I was disappointed with the rooms which seemed to ...
Protaras, Cyprus greekcypriotLARNACA It is July, and we have come to the Island I love again. We are spending 3 nights in a nice hotel in Larnaca, enjoying the sunshine, having some quick visits to relatives, but mostly we are on the beach. The reason I am at this hotel this time is because I enjoy the early morning jogging by the beach. People from Larnaca, as well as tourists walk early in the morning and late in the afternoon ...
Larnaca, Cyprus greekcypriot... get up very early in the morning to see the morning sunrise, and after a good breakfast I get to the beach. I don't have to walk at all to get there, because the beach is just in front of the apartment. I am swimming for about 15 minutes, and then have a long walk to the very last hotel which is about 4 km from our house, where I enjoy an hour in the jaccuzzi of the hotel, and then walk all the way back to the house. Every now and ...
