... the rolling hills. We then drove the Golden road, the most expensive road in history (apparently). It was pretty crazy, right at the southern most part of the island in a very inaccessible area. No wonder it was so expensive I guess. We got to see a Seal colony which was pretty cool. ... it wasn't just the waves heaving! And to top it off, because we were so late due to the stormy seas, we ended up having to go around in circles in the inlet by Stornaway for at least a half hour until another large boat vacated. ... an uneventful ride up to Stornaway, where we checked in at Hebridean GH. Ian and Phil sharing for 2 nights, with Paul looking forward to a couple of quiet nights.
Out into town for a nice Chinese meal, back to the Spar for a Magnum and into the Lounge to update blog and Match of the Day.(except there is no footy because of stupid Eurovision Song Contest.....grrrrrr).

... The road heads around the west coast and again I was blown away by the beauty of the beaches. Even on a windswept day they still looked enticing. Then the fun began, the road turned away from the beaches and began to climb. I can ride a bike ok on the flat, or even up a shortish hill.
