We arrived back into Melbourne just after 5am Friday morning, the 300km/hr tail winds helped us make up lost time and then some. The first thing that hit us was how bloody cold it was. Even the lame English summer was far superior to this.
When I sit back and reflect on a holiday I always ask myself "What was the highlight? Was it what you expected? What was the unexpected?"

... went to meet his cousin, and we parted ways for now - I do plan on going to see his town, especially as it's only a few hours from Sydney. I had the best poached eggs ever made for breakfast with some dynamite coffee, and walked through a big chunk of Melbourne north to south including the centre. I can't convey properly the insane variety of everything everywhere all the time. It's crazy upside-down-topsy-turvy land.
... and ruin the following day/night.
So we set off towards the botanic gardens - a place in which I think my mum would have had some kind of joy-based seizure - in what felt to us like sunny, calm, 9 degree weather.
I especially enjoyed the shocked and bemused looks on the faces of the public, seeing a man in a kilt during what they consider the depths of a particularly cold winter! ...
