... was sitting in a bar, having a wine and reading my travel guide as i met Erie, a guy from washington dc. after an interesting conversation, we went to a lounge bar, in one of the high-end hotels to listen to a Philippine live band. it was a little awkward as we were the only people in there (he, his iranian friend and me). but after one song the band members came to our table and we chattet the whole evening about diving and they told me crazy stories!! wow... that was ...

... An enourmous rollercoaster dominates and you can hear the screams many shops away! It also has a bowling alley (al hates bowling tho so none for us) and 2 cinemas which we couldnt resist popping into and checking out the new disaster flick '2012' which is great but I was a little disturbed about the people they chose to go on the arcs as I feel a lot of them were past their reproductive peak - anyway i digress........,.

And now for something completely different

... the bus to get back to the Central bus station but eventually gave up – got off at yet another traffic jam and walked the rest. I don’t think the concept works here at all due to the traffic and I am not sure that I could recommend it unless you intend to treat it as a round city tour and not a HO/HO.

And so from the ultra modern KL with its gridlock traffic to the Cambodia and the ancient temples of Angkor Wat and travel by tuk tuk. Details to follow in the next episode

Hell of a day son, hell of a day

... Terminal for a lowly 2 Ringgit each and walked up to Tune Hotel, we got there at about 0100. After a mass amount of ******* around and dodging ****** Aussies and Brits here for the racing we managed to get Tune to store the Tube full of paintings for a whole month for about $20 Aud, RAD!

Then it was time to catch maybe an hours sleep before the beginning of the next stage of the journey to Sri Lanka.

... Tennis saw 4 matches including Montfils, Gasquet and Isomin. Not quite the atmosphere of Wimbledon but definitely excellent tennis. Plans include seeing silver leaf monkeys and fireflies, having a fish foot massage and cocktails in the sky bar. Saturday I fly to Koto Kinabalu to climb Mt Kinabalu and trek through and sleepin the forest. Life is great. Hope all well at home.

Kuala Lumpur White Trash

... no word of a lie, told me to “go and jump in the sea, you bad man!” Now, my geography isn't white hot or anything but I figured KL was a fair old distance from the sea. Maybe that was part of my punishment. Walk for three days to the coast then launch yourself into the surf. Either way I wasn't going to do it and my first interaction with a local – even if he wasn't very local at all – hadn't gone swimmingly. If you'll be good enough to pardon the pun ...

The Return of the Backpackers

... I would open my door to my house
and come out not to cool weather, but a wave of thick, damp, humid air.
Aahhh....!!!! Surprisingly, over time, I became adapted to the humidity in
Miami, and was again amazed by the human body's ability to evolve and adapt to
different environments.
So, I was on my way this month to my first Asian country, which was Malaysia.
Not only my first Asian country and eastern culture experience, but also my

... that make up what Malaysia is today. There was a mix of Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Portuguese dances. Some of the dances were quite similar with Philippinefolk dances especially with the use of native products like bamboo and coconuts.

The last part of the showprovided an opportunity for guests, especially from various countries, to takepart in the dances. It was fun to see all of them trying to learn Asian dances.
