The bus journey to Columbia is a complex process because no company runs that route directly from Quito! Luckily everything went like clockwork – the first bus turned up as I arrived at the random corner it stops at, the next bus left 5 minutes after I arrived and then I arrived in Tulcan for the border crossing at around 2pm.
