I didn't bring my backpack with me so I couldn't go stay at Valeria's this night so we made plans to meet up the next day instead and I left to go play on the buses on my way to the hostel. When I got back to the hostel, Jan was hanging out in the room and we both wanted to go check out a salsa bar. Despite all ...

... before a long day of buses en route to Columbia!

The bus journey to Columbia is a complex process because no company runs that route directly from Quito! Luckily everything went like clockwork – the first bus turned up as I arrived at the random corner it stops at, the next bus left 5 minutes after I arrived and then I arrived in Tulcan for the border crossing at around 2pm. The border was nice and easy and then I got lucky again as my next bus left 20 minutes ...

    Salsa Capital of South America!

A travel blog entry by flicky123 on Mar 25, 2013

We arrived to a ghost town, apparently the day after Palm Sunday is a public holiday here, as is most of the week, not sure if we will see Cali in its normal light. Hey ho, sun is shining, found dinner and a beer, cant complain!

Going to the zoo, zoo, zoo..... Meant to be the best zoo in South America. Really cant comment as have not been to any others but a really nice place to visit. There really were Lions and ...
