Palma de Mallorca Spain

Arive and spend day in Majorca Also known as Majorca, this Balearic island is a true Mediterranean paradise. It's deservedly famous for such natural wonders as its golden-sand beaches, tall pine groves and towering cliffs. The landscape is as varied as the northern mountains and the southern flatlands with their almond and olive groves. Among the many must-sees are a Gothic castle, a 13th century cathedral and the former palace of Mallorcan kings.

Underwater Lakes near Portocristo

... cave tour we took the heli to the yacht which was approaching Minorca island when we landed aboard. It was close to 6 PM, so we washed up and had dinner on the sun deck at 7 PM while we watched the sunset and as we entered long entrance to the Mahón harbor, the second deepest natural harbor in the world.

The #2 rated best bare beach in the world.

... cute to see. She was flirting back and he was laying on all the charm. I was cute to watch and what made it even cuter was they were nude the entire time. I think they might have gone up to the dunes to get some alone time since the disappeared for awhile.

Around 3 PM walked up off the beach to a clearing where the heli was waiting for us. It didn’t take long until we arrived at Porto Cristo.

Doch ...

Porto Cristo

This morning started out cold and rainy so I got a slow start. Wandering around in the rain wasn't what I wanted to do. It cleared up in the afternoon and I headed out to Porto Cristo. I went via some back roads and got a couple of windmill pictures.

My primary reason for going to Porto Cristo was the caves there, the Coves del Drac (the Dragon's Caves). These are truly beautiful caves with impressive stalactite and ...

Rock Pile

My destination today isn't very photogenic, looking pretty much like a rock pile. It's the oldest prehistoric site on the island - Capocorb Vell, the ruins of a village that archeologists believe existed in about 1000 BC. That's about the time that David was King in Israel. Although they believe that the village was bigger than what's been uncovered there are five talayots (three round and 2 square) and ...

Randa

This morning I went to a small town nearby shopping. Each town has its day for a farmer's market. I needed to stock up on fresh produce so rather than just do the supermarket trip I browsed the farmer's market at a small town close to where I'm staying. The markets are set up in the central square of the town and I figured they should have fresher produce than the supermarket. They also have more color and are more fun.

My first blog - Majorca

... It has exotic bars and night-outs you will ever imagine and you don't feel lonely anywhere. All in all it was a wonderful trip, you can check the weather information on http://www.majorcainspain.co.uk/weather .html and see if this is the time to go. Happy traveling, any questions, don't hesitate to ask, I will be more than happy to answer.

Caves are my thing, or are they?

... pictures are angry and unfriendly. After following throngs and throngs of people over marked paths they sit you down on wooden benches in front of a crystal blue/ turquoise lake where they give a 3 sentence introduction in 4 languages - caves are 20 C all year, 50 million years old, discovered in the 1890's by a Frenchmen and are 1,2km long (since I heard it four times I remembered pretty well). Light goes off, 3 ...

Mallorca and a New Washing Machine

... another boat for about 6 hours and only had one brief visit from the friendly neighbourhood dolphins. We saw Mallorca through the haze along with loadsa ferries. We also spotted a fender which we picked out of the water (that's our man overboard drill done for another year!) thus saving about €40.00 on buying a new one - YES!! We arrived in Andraitx on the South West coast of Mallorca and put ourselves onto the public jetty there. On paying for the mooring in the ...
