... much everyone speaks English, we've become slightly embarrassed by our lack of language skills, so we attended a Spanish class (one of the many 'activities' put on by the hotel) in a vain attempt to at least say more than 'thank you'. The Spanish I learnt at school (age 11) is a little rusty but soon we were telling our Bulgarian teacher (don't ask) what day it was, what time it was, and that I'd just had a birthday.
