Today we went to the beautiful little city called Cagliari in Sardinia. When we wandered the streets mum, dad and I found a little crypt next to a church were they used to do pagan worship. We've seen as much under the cities as we have above. Then it was used in world war two as a bomb shelter.
As we wandered further, after the city walls gate, we found a neat bits and pieces shop where I found fabulous cat glasses (see picture). Unfortunately ...
... as clear as we have had, but very refreshing.
Then a short walk to see the flamingos on the ancient roman salt pans. (The romans used the salt for preserving their goods-very extensive).
Back on the bus and home for a siesta.
Thank god graham'had a calzone.
Ithought I might get a bite about the tea Mike!
Off to Spain /Salamanca tomorrow and catching up with Lorraine on Saturday.

We walked one of the historic areas today.
Up lots of stairs to watch towers. The archeological museum, the local council palazzo! It was grandiose, mitcham would give an arm and a leg for such opulence.
Visited the mandatory churches, some with crypts. It stll amazes me the riches and ornate ness of these religious edifices.

After our leisurely drive down Sardinia (with a couple of diversions) we arrived in Cagliari - bloody traffic.
We were dropped off by our fabulous traveling companions. We will miss them.
Great little B n B. Lots of help and information.
Strolled around old city. Got some fabulous gorgonzola cheese (tbought of you Mike). It was nearly runny and went well with the vermantino.
At night the restaurants fill every little nook and cranny with tables. We had them set up ...
Tomorrow morning at 7:30 am, we will be able to see land! Today, we did an early morning yoga class, lounged and sunbathed by the pool, ate lunch at the Mexican Cantina, did a stretch and relax class, ate a relaxing formal dinner and watched a show in the theater. Just chill'in waiting to get to ...
