Winding up the east coast
After finishing up our Whitsundays sailing we stayed in Airlie beach one more night then got back on the highway north. We've only got 3 more nights left with our van so the rest of road trip will be a bit rushed. Its funny thinking back to the likes of Coffs Harbour when we were worried that we rushing it by only spending one night in places. We …
Cairns-Love it.
Ok, here we are again. Now for you guys that are waiting for the extra days I left out, I'm just adding them into our 3 weeks in Cairns so the dates won't run true. I won’t bore you with the day to days but give you a quick rundown about the great time we had there. The weather was very unseasonal with everyday over 30degrees. We stayed …
Days 250 - 255
On leaving Cooktown to return to Cairns we were surprised by the amount of wallabies we saw, some jumping in front of the car but mainly just sitting on the side of the road we would have seen at LEAST 200 and unfortunately we did hit one. No damage to car luckily, but it was a very tense drive as we know how unpredictable they can be.
Our next …
5 star park
Onto to Cairns along the beautiful coastline via Palm Cove and Yorkey's Knob. Still raining!!!!! But the " Coconut Big 4 resort" had amazing facilities for the kids, so even though it was raining the kids still donned their bathers and tackled all the water playgrounds and multiple other things to do over the next few days .
On Sunday there was …
Cairns - relax and adventure

It is due to many attractions in the park as well as overall maintenance perfection together with professional staff and service. Counting the attractions they have a basketball court, tennis …

Maybe it was a bit expensive here, but it was worth to pay and have all the attractions.

Expected a little more since staying a Airlie BIG4 where rated less. Had wonderful staff but environment was solitude very large park and had cold showers each morning. Amentities were clean.

Great facilities for families with plenty of kids activities. Staff were very accomodating. Camp kitchens and cooking areas had plenty of space. Campsites were green and clean. Recommend the on-site fish n chips with Barrumundi as the fish served at fair prices. Would stay at this location again.

Great place for the kids to have some fun for a bit. Great facilities, although I think it's rather overpriced, with it costing $68 per night, and that's without having to pay for Beth, from her next birthday, we'll have to pay for her too, so needless to say, no more big 4's from then on!
