She was ment to be on a flight that came in halfa before us....but singapore airport is huge and we couldnt find her, so wisely dale left a note for her at the customer service desk and ripped of the address to the hostel so she could possibly find us. so we easily caught the two trians to the outter part of the city and then began the walk to our hostel. the ...
Singapore, Singapore katielouWe had the biggest culture shock that I think I have ever experienced when we landed at Singapore airport on route to Bangkok.
We left India from Trivundrum airport with Silk Air and had a very quick 4 1/2 hour flight departing at 22.30. So with very little sleep we got to Singapore where we had arranged to spend the day in order to get Issy's braces adjusted at a dentist that we had organised via Internet.
Anyone that has been to Singapore airport will appreciate this, but ...
... to catch our bus into London, and within an hour or so we were at Victoria station (one of our favourite haunts by now!). We dropped our bags at Left Luggage (for the tidy sum of 8 pounds PER BLOODY BAG!) and set off with a tube ticket in our pockets and the purpose of making ourselves as tired as possible before getting on the plane
Our first stop? Oxford St of course! Quite odd how familiar some ...

Singapore, regarded as a shopper’s paradise, is one of the sought after tourist destinations
for travelers across the globe. The charm and beauty of the place coupled with the various shopping centers and tourist spots makes Singapore one of the well-liked tourist destinations among the travelers as well as the shopaholics. In Singapore, Orchard Road is a one-stop destination for the shopaholics in Singapore. The numerous shops at ...
... elusive dessert stand in the food court whose menu promised waffles. Everyday, myself and Lucy have been craving these and we have been given mixed responses as to when these treasured food items would be sold. One day, the woman said "too late for waffles" (it was barely past 11am) and then she said "no waffles no waffles" and then "too early for waffles" (it was just before 11am) so Lucy and myself decided that this narrow window of opportunity ...
Singapore, Singapore apoc100... has one tree for every three people- Singaporeans do no pronouce "th" though, so it sounded more like there was one tree for every tree people, which made me a little confused because I wasn't sure what a "tree person" was, and kept on thinking back to this TLC special that I watched where this guy had a skin/bone problem that caused his hands and legs to grow bark and the bones to kind of spread out like roots, and he was nicknamed the tree man. Anyway ...
Singapore, Singapore catherine.cy.ng... a bar to have a drink, I ordered a glass of white wine and was brought a small bottle and charged double the price on the menu - luckily it was delicious! We went off to Sentosa beach for a bit of R&R, Roger enjoyed watching all the ships in the huge port area. It is the Singapore Arts Festival so we watched the Indonesian dancers in the largest of the shopping malls and also an Australian dance/acrobatic group with their interpretation of the end of the world ...
Singapore, Singapore jenrogBack at the Old Town Guesthouse in Phuket I had met a really nice couple from Singapore, Naish & a nameless girlfriend. The girlfriend suggested to visit 400 acre Bukit Timah Nature Reserve which contains Singapore's highest hill & retains the only substantial area of primary rainforest left in the country. Apparently Singapore is one of only two cities in ...
Singapore, Singapore ericadempsey... I have to say that I'm impressed; comfy new plane, really good food and little twinkly stars on the ceiling too. The cheap seats involved a stop at Dubai, a bus tour of the airport, a three hour layover, another stop at
Colombo (where at least we didn't have to get off the plane) before finally staggering into Singapore 20 hours ...
