Yet another sunny, hot day and we went, as planned for a morning bike ride (Mike, Danny and I), this was absolutely stunning and we took a route towards The Hague, we had beautiful, safe, well maintained cycle route the whole way and were shocked that the under-passes had no graffiti, broken glass or the smell of urine as they do at home in the UK. ... to get a view of one of three river mouth dams that are moveable--normally they are up, allowing tidal flow and therefore fish migration. They are lowered only when higher-than-usual tides combine with high or storm winds. Our guide can just feel the wind and tell you where it is on the Beaufort scale, and it seems a common skill here. There are wind turbines also, to maximize benefits of being a direct line from the North Sea to the Dutch coast.
