The trip from Charleston to Vine Grove was pretty uneventful, but from the moment we got to the Louisville area it turned into an Alaska Revisited party. Wonderful to see Ralph and his mother again, and to meet his sister Brenda, and see their houses. Then we went (with a view of Ft Knox on the way) to see and hear ...

I got most of my packing finished yesterday and tonight I am just finished up packing carry-on bag since I'm adding thing I use everyday into that bag.
This will definitely be a new experience for me.

We had lunch at the cafe -- which was moderately priced but it was clear that the Kentucky Derby was all about the high rollers. All bets are in cash. On the derby race $15,000,000 was bet; for ...
Well that little sprinkle we had yesterday afternoon turned into a real storm that last night, It was still going this morning which means breaking camp -- in the rain. The RV stays dry but the staff gets soaked.

Historical Traveler Reviews Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino Hotel Elizabeth
Great stay at Caesars!
My fiance and I stayed at the Caesars for one night for a birthday getaway and had a great visit. We enjoyed our room and thought it was spacious and well appointed. We had an amazing meal at the fanciest restaurant at the resort ( I can't remember the name). We swam at the clean and well-kept indoor pool and had a great time at the casino. We walked away with some extra money in our pockets, feeling relaxed and happy. We will be back to Caesars! Oh, and I thought that the hotel and casino employees were some of the very nicest we've encountered!
Nice hotel ,terrible casino
just spent a weekend with my children (adults) and their friends - we all agreed that the hotel was nice, clean - nice large bathroom ----the casino staff is not friendly ,could not find a server for drinks , - all in all if I were to return to area, I would try another place --as the others said ,the casino is quite a walk from the hotel
Very nice hotel
Our room was great. It was large and had one of the largest bathrooms of any hotels I have been to. The beds were nice also. Staff was great also. It is a long walk to the casino and restaurants, but they have 2 of the people movers along the way. We didn't mind the walk at all. Food seemed a bit high, dinner buffet was $15, they also have a place to get sandwiches and a restaurant with a bar. You are several miles from a town, nothing out there but the hotel and casino.
Loved this new Hotel
We stayed at Ceasar's Hotel Casino in Elizabeth, Indiana last month. This is a newer Hotel and sits behind the Casino. The room was excellent as was the staff. Their buffet at $15.00 per person is a little higher that I normally pay at a Casino, but the selection and food was very good. We are returning again on March 20th and I would highly recommend this Hotel to any one.
Loved the Hotel & Casino
I went with friends in December 2004 to the Casino and Hotel. We had reservations and stayed in the hotel for the weekend. Had a wonderful time playing blackjack and even went home with some winnings. Had dinner at the buffet which was wonderful. All of the food was fresh and there was plenty of it. Something to appeal to everyone. The hotel was very clean and inexpensive. The staff was helpful and nice to deal with. I will go back again!
My husband and I had decided to spend the day at Caesar's gambling boat for our 25th anniversary. After several hours of gambling and tons of fun, we decided rather than to drive home (Anderson, IN) that night we would stay at the Caesars Indiana Casino Hotel that had been recommended by family/friends. Afer approaching the front desk and being told the hotel was "full", we were understanding since we didn't have prior reservations, BUT it was the demeanor of the front desk clerk who wasn't very helpful or polite when we asked about any surrounding places to stay. I was just disappointed after hearing so many wonderful things about the hotel, that the staff of the hotel wasn't more helpful.
Buffet at Caesars Indiana
We enjoyed our trip to the Casino, but the lunch buffet was AWFUL!!! Think canned heated spiceless veggies and Chinese items that tasted like "La Choy". Also, the pasta was not better than "chef boy ardee" (I'm sure it was not but it wasn't any better). Go to Caesar's and have a good time but beware the buffet with the scary pasta salads and high school / college cafeteria offerings. Echhhh!
My husband & I went to Caesars Indiana in July and had a great time.
The rooms were nice and clean, restaurants were good, & I even won a little money on the slots. We took a trip to see one of the caves in the area which was nice & relatively inexpensive. Would like to go back sometime & visit the other caves. Would have done some hiking at the area park but was way too hot. A nice getaway for a few days.
I really enjoyed the hotel. But It is too far to walk from the hotel to the casino. There should be some kind of shuttle. My mother cann't walk very far and the trip back and forth was a little too much.
