After breakfast brought on cue without request, we, Greg the Aussie and me headed to the city on the train. I have to pay for shipping Suzy back to London Heathrow Airport and get the air waybill the get out of customs card for Suzy when I go to collect her from London.
I first go to a bank to cash some travellers cheques and then to the freight company to get the bill and final price. It was ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina pearcy... town once again to a small town called Tigre and then taking a boat up the delta to some islands on the river. Definitely looking forward to that.

By the way if any of you heard about the tornado in Argentina that killed 10 people a couple of days ago, that was nowhere near BA. Argentina is a huge country. OK - take care everyone - talk to you later.

Funny story of the day. We got rick rolled in Uruguay! (if you don't know what I'm ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina derekjjensen... a ticket across. Colonia is very, very freezing that early in the morning in an open kart! :-)

We couldn´t find any baggage storage in BA so we had to lug our backs and bags around the city. Not a fantastic option, and it seriously limited what we could do. Plus BA pretty much shuts up shop on Sunday so there was hardly anything open.

We caught a train out to Polmaro, the so called shopping district. It was ...
Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal, Argentina loopydog... He was soon kicked out, and we finished eating our dinner. The waiter was great, and had a good laugh at the soccer teams Mike and I like--Chaco Forever and Quilmes. They are both pretty awful. After talking for awhile with the waiter (dinner in total took 2 hours), we came back to the apartment. Some alfajors (they are just as delicious as I remember) and Rush Hour 3 have rounded out the night. Now we must sleep to prepare for the adventures of tomorrow!
Buenos Aires, Argentina que_rad... lots of the restaurants/Cafes in the area compete for attention by hosting tango exhibitions right on the street to help lure passers by into their establishment. In this area all of the houses are painted in bright colours to add to the flavour. We also went to Plaza De Mayo where all great Argentinean gatherings have taken place and saw the balcony where Eva and Juan Peron ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina bigbrowndog... final haul with full focus now on Grand Slam Saturday. Thursday, just before I forgot, I managed to squeeze in a night at the Tango at a cafe just down the street from the hostel. I was joined by a few others from the hostel and we booked a table for some steak. The show was fantastic though it came with some dubious siniging. I ordered skirt (yes that is a type of steak) which tought me a valuable lesson to not deviate from the fabulous Lomo ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina shanem... liked BA... cosmopolitan with a bit of Spanish flair & charm... colonial buildings and beautiful parks, including a well-kept rose garden... and of course, an interesting nightlife, which we didn't really partake in too much since we kept filling ourselves silly with steak and wine. That, and the fact that everyone eats dinner at 10 or 11pm, which we're not used to.] The highlight for me was finding an American sports bar to watch the ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina ej122493... my first ride from Ezeiza airport, staring out the window at the Argentine winter with raining drizzling down and cars speeding all around me. I thought about when I was in El Salvador and Mexico and how people drove there. Buenos Aires was much worse. I was on my way to my host family's house and I felt paranoid that I would never make it there alive. Traffic laws aren't nearly as regulated here then they are in the States. I can't recall ever seeing ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina mad5172... chap, spent the last 4 years traveling the world on his bike, now about to go down to Tierra del Fuego then back up to BA and home. Central America from all reports is a complete pain in the butt for very little reward it seems. Typical border crossings will take half a day and some UN negotiation, so any future decision to bypass this compressed intestinal isthmus of aggravation are well founded. South America in comparison is a joy. Having been through Central America ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina barneyandpier... modern and contemporary art, that I didn´t have time to see it all; I had to scoot back to the hostel to meet Jane. Jane and I parted paths after Cusco: she headed to northern Peru, Ecuador, Florida to meet her husband, and then to Brazil to see an old work colleague; I headed south to the colder parts of SA. We planned to meet up in BA towards the end of our trip. After dinner at Chan Chan, a Peruvian resturant (just for ...
