      ... had a week of relaxation, and thankfully, we managed to get a couple of days with great weather – one day was a great walk from the main village which was located at the highest inland point on the island down to the coast, and the second nice day, we hired a car and drove around the island. One of the highlights of the walk was a visit to the Lion of Kea which is a rock formation which looks like a Lion, but I think that there has been a bit of enhancement. ...

      ... the Ducal Palace (though why she needs alcohol when she is so high on art remains a mystery!) and then returned to the hotel to relax and freshen up before dinner.

      Tomorrow we move on to Parma (famous for its cheese) by way of a four hour taxi, bus and train trip. The actual travel time is much less than this, but of course you have to allow for connections etc. Meanwhile, enjoy the blog and the photos ...

      ... among others....talk about starting with the big guns! Being that early in the morning the place was nice and quiet and this was an art lovers dream......one person, one room and lots of favourite artists.

      ... a good menu of local dishes, and very reasonably priced: three courses, plus wine, dessert and coffee, came to 41.50, and could not have been faulted. We reckon on going back there tomorrow.

      Speaking of which, that will be our last chance to visit the town's National Gallery, which has been closed for the holiday so far. Hopefully it will be open tomorrow, as it has several paintings by Joys boyfriends and it is in the beautiful and historic Ducal ...
