Had a horrible flight on United Airlines as everything had a cost. Went to bathroom during the flight and there was someone in the small room changing his clothes. They didn't lock the door so I tried to enter, eeeeek!!! Fat, hairy man naked!!! I returned to my seat without relieving myself.
I got to see the Amazon river at sunrise and took pictures. We ...
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil guiser... to seem pretty. It’s supposed to seem real. There is a fantastic example of this in the juxtaposition of overhead shots of the city as viewed from a plane, making it appear to be a sea of swimming pools and condos (which also serves as a visual representation of the strong theme of grace – the world as viewed from Heaven), followed by Wright immediately bringing you straight back to earth by taking you to the homeless shelter and reminding you that ...

Generally, going out on streets of central SP at night is not recommended so happy to let man bring it to us.

And tomorrow we fly. Don't really think we'll bother using our spare hour to walk in SP- it just seems grim, threatening and uninspiring.

* The photos on this page do NOT show Sao Paulo. It just seems a reasonable chance to put up some more Ilha Grande shots *
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil suzieandandrewWell, almost a month into my trip/new life. I have been not doing a whole lot but walking around taking pictures and getting some much needed exercise. Since I do not speak the language, Fabiola has been doing a lot of research for me on language schools and getting me contact e-mail addresses. I just sent out 35 resumes today! I have an interview tomorrow (Thursday) at 2:00pm. It will be interesting to interview for a ...
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil ccajoleasWith great sadness and a bit of hangover, David and I left Rio de Janeiro they day after the Karnival was finished. As usual, there was a lot of discussion about the route to follow with plenty of different alternatives and means of transportation. In the end, we decided to stop one night in Sao Paulo in our way to the ...
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil captainflint... pole (the bane) of my existence has called me back once again to die more silent deaths within its prison walls. No public transportation whatsoever, no arts or music to speak of, no natural beauty, no culture, with little to see and nothing to do but live in the protected and socially-maintained bubbles of work, walmart, junkfood, and the emotionally mind-numbing yet necessary self-medication of cable TV and CNN. In embarking on this ...
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil parrisha... CME (Chicago Mercantile Exchange/Chicago Board of Trade) acquired 10% of it and BM&F 2.2% of CME. We got to visit the floor before we left. Brazil's economy is really on an upswing! We took the Metro here to get to and from BM&F. It's a nice, efficient system but it's PACKED. They have an interesting selection of vending machine products from books to jewelry.
Sao Paulo, Brazil jherlein... itself is an endless sea of high rises and skyscrapers but I absolutely love it. It isn't like Florianopolis...which I already miss... but there are so many amazing adventures to be had in the 3rd largest metropolis in the WORLD! Ps. I miss everyone... even Raymond. Saddly we only have 2 more weeks so.... I'll keep it fresh.

Sao Paulo, Brazil rubyfunk... care so little for me. Over the past month, she'd neglected to return my phone calls, refused to wake up before two, ignored me to travel, agreed to see me seldomly and only through coaxing, and now this. I managed to contain myself outwardly, but the veins in my head swelled with such rage they nearly burst. "Tchau." I wanted nothing more to do with her. "Tchau," she said reluctantly. "Beijos." "Beijos." And that was it. Georgia may have let out a slight "meow ...
