    Went skiing with the Reidy's and their cousins. Jay Peak is definitely a must on a skiers list. Some sweet glade skiing for novices. Packed powder. 25 degrees. Barely a breeze. A couple of quads and a tram bought you to the top. Sitting on the Canadian border in northern Vermont, it's quite remote making for small lift lines.     ... which is north of Plattsburgh, NY. We enjoyed the safety of a permanent anchor, the deep water of Deep Bay, the close dingy beach, and the many hiking trails and the beautiful view of the Adirondacks. We loved it, and so did Daisy!

    We awoke leisurely this morning and took our time gathering our clothes and packing up.     ... opened a mountain inn on a hill above Stowe in 1950. Maria then wrote an autobiography of which the 1959 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical and 1965 movie with Christopher Plummer and Julie Andrews are fictionalized accounts. The current Trapp Family Lodge replaced the original inn after it burned down in 1980 and is still owned by members of the Von Trapp family. The lodge even offers Trapp Family History stay and tour packages.
