Started our road trip today. We drove out of Dallas towards Jackson, Mississippi stopping along the way for lunch at Catfish Village that serves tradition southern food. We had more than our fill of deep fried EVERYTHING.

Today we left Shreveport and crossed the Mississippi River at Vicksburg. We turned off the interstate (I-20) shortly after crossing the river and went to the Vicksburg National Military Park. After a lengthy search for an allowed picnicking spot, we enjoyed a picnic and the beautiful day.

... is 3 months into being 7 and Disney, to me, is nothing but an international human zoo that I would love to eternally avoid. What better trip to plan in its place than a camper drive to the least person per square mile state in the lower 48 of America. I am glad the family went for it.
