Edmonton - Calgary - Huston - Liberia Well all 3 Flights turned out to be suprisingly smooth, almost no turbulence for the whole time. I was pretty pumped on that. It turned out that they let me take my giant backpack as a carry on and it was a bit funny because it would only fit in the first class binīs. Edmonton to Calgary was no problem but the Calgary to Huston plain did not have enough place in first class.. I shruged this off (thinking of holding this huge backpack) until a nice steward...
Tamarindo, Costa Rica d-rockaWednesday December 20th, 2005 Well, here we are in a little beach/surf town called Tamarindo. It's nothing less than beautiful. We arrived in San Jose on Sunday afternoon and took the city bus into El Centro (downtown). It cost us about a dollar each. We immediatly got a place to stay (from our Lonely Planet Guide) called Pension Otoya. It was pretty gungy, but we felt safe and secure. We ventured out to get some food at a little restaurant and I'm still not sure what I ate. I think it was po...
Tamarindo, Costa Rica kaiandheather... locals trying to get us to go to this hotel or that one or go on this tour or that one. We basically told them to **** off and we settled on the first hostel we could find...Bahia Paraiso. The price for the room for the 3 of us was $10 each, but we talked them down to $8. Shhh...don´t tell anyone. One of the guys that worked there had a Hitler mustache and he would always pat our shoulders in a creepy and wierd way that I can´t really describe ...
Tamarindo, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica farrahfigUgh, I hate leaving, plus I hate how much my head hurts, along with my shoulders, shins and giant scratch/ugly bruise on my right bicep from the stealth chalk board that is on the door, that busted out some ninja move that caused the bruise, be that I am not the only one who got caught by it, Brendan was about to rip it off the door as well.<br>Anways, B and Mike were leaving at 9am, so I had to get up as well, and see them off, I can't believe B ate ...

Tamarindo, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica albert413... Rican native. With Lauren on Princesa, Katherine on Tequila, and the tour guide they set off on a 30 minute horseback ride to the waterfall. After arriving to the waterfall they then realized it was another 20 minute STEEP downhill hike. The plants and flowers are extremely tropical and there are so many hibiscus and birds of paradise everywhere. After getting down to the waterfall area they waded across the river to the waterfall. Since it ...
La Fortuna, Costa Rica bell.costarica... more depth. For example , when I was in Mexico and Guatemala I stayed there for six weeks each and felt like I had really got to know the country and it´s people & culture. As I spend only two weeks in each of Honduras , Nicaragua , Costa Rica and Panama it´s just not possible to have such a rich depth of experience. At this stage I´m not now going to change any of the plans for Central America but certainly this is ...
Penas Blancas, Costa Rica garygapyear... the way.....saved 3 hrs of travel time.....was a taxi that was unmarked and falling to pieces, but the guy was nice and all was well. Bahia Salinas is a deserted penninsula, only 2 hotels down a dusty road. We've been here 4 days and Alex has been taking kite surfing lessons, since he has been harbouring a dream to try this sport after 1st seeing it in Vietnam. We're really enjoying the hotel stay, since it is v remote and tranquil and untouristy......in fact no restaurant ...
Bahia Salinas, Costa Rica cat6698San Jan del Sur, I went to this little beach town to check out the surf from the Nicaragua side. Turns out, the town beach is pretty mediocre with no waves and that most people that come to San Juan actually stay ten to fifteen miles out of town on the really nice beaches. Our hostel had a daily shuttle to the 3 different really nice surfing beaches. We grabbed a shuttle and spent the day on a perfectly nice beach backed by dense jungle. The waves ...
San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua hildreth75... into SJDS, so we put him up in our tent with us. It was pretty much the worst sleep of my life, I was sardined between the two of them, and we had no air mattress so we were on the hard sandy ground and I had a tree root in my hips and back either way I lay. We had a great time before sleeping, it started out as, lets take a self photo of how squished we are, and then turned into all kinds of action photos. I haven´t laughed that *************g time. My ...
