Pura vida en Puerto Viejo

... though, I'm not sure about the scientific value of such facilities. The vast majority of the sloths there can never be released into the wild as they are either maimed adults or else juveniles who have never learned which leaves are safe to eat from their mother (as an aside, these orphans come about because their mother drops them from the canopy and refuses to go down and retrieve them, albeit for reasons of personal safety as opposed to laziness). Therefore ...

... mosquitos...very high palms and banana trees that grow up like the oleanders grow in the south of Italy. Last but not least, I left a part of me; I can see myself riding my bike to school along the dusty road and relaxing on my favourite rocking chair whilst looking up at the night stars. I taken with me a new Margherita, "Margherita ...

... and doing it as a corporate retreat. One of the women was talking about how awful the food was at their last company outing; apparently, they neglected to bring drawn butter with the lobster. When she asked for some, they brought her garlic butter, which she rejected, then they brought her plain butter, but it wasn't melted, and what was she supposed to do with that? It's a good thing my mom was wrong about my eyeballs getting stuck in the back of my head.

Gracias por Dios que es Viernes

... But then some of the girls started planning a trip to Puerto Viejo, with the express purpose of lazing around on the beach, and I decided I could take my break there just as easily. Well, not really, but I could probably sleep in and sit around, and as my time here is finite, it seems silly to "waste" a weekend doing nothing. I'm probably missing a point somewhere in that statement, but I don't care. I want a sunburn and a Pina Colada. Later that night... We ...

Starting this afew days later than the trip began so i'll begin with a few of the moments that has defined the trip so far. At the airport in Newark, after missing our flight due to being boarded on the flight to San Jose, California instead of San Jose, Costa Rica, we became aquainted with an american airline worker to help us through our problems. She does so by questioning Ellie's personal hygine, calling her 'Fishy ...

... donation, but the guy just put me off. So having gone all that way we then had to wait nearly an hour in the pouring rain for the next bus back! Not a very successful afternoon. It rained all the next day too, so we decided to chill with a bottle of wine and very nice it was too. It would have been nice to see the coast and the sea in the sunshine, but at least we had a great first morning and got to see lots of things.

... They were fun, so glad I could find some awesome people to hang out with. We rented bikes and rode a few miles down to this local beach and went out to dinner and all that, it was fun. I also hung out with a group from California, they were so fun! I met so many new people...loved it. I seriously can't believe I didn't take more photos. I guess you'll just have to make due with what I have!

... Vargas, the beaches were pretty much untouched and it was just so pleasing to walk on - swaying palm trees, torquoise waters made it very Caribbean! As the reef ended, the sea gave way to bigger waves lashing in. Near the end of the trail we got the best sighting of a sloth yet and it was moving - slowly up a tree. Though we had to wait about 45minutes on a bus to take us back, it was a really nice day oot. Onwards now to Puerto Viejo.
