Osa Peninsula Drake Bay, Osa, Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica, 14-8150, (506)-831-1488
We arrived in Drake Bay after a slightly rocky boat ride through the river and open ocean, and made the steep hike up to our accommodation. For the next three nights we stayed in a little cabin without eletricity or hot water, but with an amazing view of Drake Bay. Highlights - The beautiful view of the bay from our our room at Mirador Lodge. We could even lie in bed and see the water. - Seeing humpback whales from the boat when we went on a day trip to nearby Cano island which is a popular s...

Uvita, Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica pamericas... a tree trunk bridge & going through the bamboo forest, but turned back just before the fright fork that would have got me to other swimming holes.
Finally back on route, found the falls but the river was so swollen after recent rains I was dubious about going into the main flow & getting washed down to the lower pool from which there was no way out except down. Went in at the smaller side falls which were more sedate.
After dropping Bev off at the airport we headed straight out of town. Of course this took us a good hour due to traffic and the inability to get proper directions! The map I we had purchased at a hotel the day when we came into the country was supposedly up-to-date, but so far I had counted around 10 mistakes. The San Jose portion was no different. By the time we got out of the city it was around 3 PM so we only had a few hours of daylight left and we still had to go ...

Uvita, Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica carrera2u... This was to date the best diving i had done in Central america. In one dive i saw more fish than 5 weeks of diving in Utila. There were huge schools of various types of fish numbering in the hundreds, half a dozen or so white tipped reef sharks, more moray eels than you could poke a stick at. It was brilliant. the second dive was just as good. After lunch on the island we headed back. We were leaving tommorrow to head north up the coast and we had an early start. The bus left at 4am
Drake Bay, Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica pjcrus... and they had lunch for us (something I was not expecting). We had sandwiches, fruit, tuna, and potato salad. I had no idea this was included but I ate up and ate well. I ate so much I´m still full and its dinner time. After chilling out Isles de Cano we left to go back for our second dive. The second dive wasn´t as good, but we saw more sharks, an octopus, and a lot fish. On the way back we spotted false killer whales which I swear were playing tricks with us. They ...
Drake Bay, Costa Rica allieadventures... the final WorldCup game. There was not too much more to see in this small town, so we headed off to San Jose on Monday as a mid point on our trip. We explored a bit more of San Jose Monday which was nice, and I am starting to like the city a little bit more. Tuesday we set off early in the morning on one of our most random days yet. We were travelling to Dominical, a little town on the Pacific coast where we were spending the rest of the trip. One of the first things we learned ...
