Who would've thought a 20 minute boat ride and we are in France ! We went from Lausanne over to Evian , where Evian water was first produced. A lovely old town set on a hill on the edge of Lake Lucerne. So quiet and peaceful, but it is the middle of a Winter and this area is booming in the Summer, not the Winter ! ... raclette and steak - all very good but expensive just like the rest of Switzerland but normal for upmarket resort like Verbier.

The next day we took Meg up the mountain by cable car to the Ruinettes which is about 2,200m up. We didn't go all the way to Mont Fort because Meg had to report to the music camp in the afternoon. The mountain and the scenery were absolutely stunning. We had a simple lunch at the Take Away there, with spectacular view.
