... security passes that had to be scanned on exit and entry. If you had not used a card to get out you couldn't use it to get in and going out or in the car required that you hand over all three cards to one of the gate attendants so that they could scan the cards for you.
We walked into the town through a nature reserve that was adorned, in what we now recognized as normal Portuguese style, with plastic bottles ...
... was our first choice for somewhere to appreciate said coastline, possibly as we'd been drinking the local brew for the last few weeks and it's noted for its 'end of world feel' (the town not the beer) and inaccessibility (again, the town not...). It was the inaccessibility combined with our lack of time and a gentle reminder that we were on holiday not travelling, that made our mind up for us and we were soon on a high speed tilting train ...
Tavira, Algarve, Portugal warmOur time in Tavira has gone quickly. We´ve enjoyed soaking in the local flavour whilst sitting at our favourite pastelaria (pastry shop but really a cafe) in the Praça Dr. Padinha. We've had fish a few times - Chris has been more adventurous than Tony in this department! On Wednesday we caught the ferry for the short journey to the beach on the Ilha de Tavira. Our first swim in ...
Tavira, Algarve, Portugal chris_n_tonyCaught the train from Faro to Tavira (about 30 minutes trip) and walked up hill and down dale to finally get to our accommodation. Very hot today and quite humid. The accommodation is quirky (as is the owner), right next to the railway bridge over the river. Trains seem to go past every hour or so but thankfully not all night!
The town is beautiful, lots of buildings seem to date back 100 - 200 years, some are a lot older. Like Faro, most of the ...
... have had the company of my friend Gary to help me through Essex and more particularly Kent and Sussex (that day through Kent and Sussex was surprisingly the toughest of the whole trip); and Gary's wife Jeanette, who not only drove to Newhaven to collect Gary, but kept me going along the way with frequent text messages urging me ever onward. Then there was support from friends Martin, Ian and Rachel: to them and all those who have read my blog or followed ...

Seejärel järgnesid ka teised, kes hakkasid tagasi tooma koos infoga ka elevandiluid, kulda ja orjasid.
