... bumped into some girls i had met at my cousins b-day party 2 days early, Just a really great way to start what hopefully will be a great year, I was expecting to just call it a early night and try not to think about it being new years, but being invited out by a great group of people and such, Just really a great time. New years day i nursed what a bit of a hang over, not sure if it was from the alcohol lack of sleep or dancing my ass off. IN the past ...
Paysandu, Uruguay senorbrian... the date tonight is new years eve, Unfortuantly, or maybe fortunatly?? it´s not looking like much is going on, The cousins i thought were gonna be here have left for the resort coastal town of punta del este along with anyone who has the money to take off and celebrate on the beach. I´ve more or less made the judgment call to enjoy Christmas and and the 15th B-day party with my family And have a relaxed new years, i figure ...
Paysandu, Uruguay senorbrian... to pick a side, Honestly i think the uruguayian gov´t takes a lot of the fault, None the less its a sad thing that those who could potentially bring the country up, keep leaving. So thats about all in my rushed entery (im limited of time) Tonight i have the 15th birthday party of my lil cousin, Then theres new years and then i have no idea what the future has for me, but i think its time for me to hit that dusty dirt road and find out. Cheers B
Colon, Argentina senorbrian... actually go through the town. Our landlady found this out, told us and sorted us out with a taxi to where the bus actually stops some 10Km from the town. That was lucky - otherwise we would have been sitting tonight at the bus station waiting for a bus that was never going to arrive. As it is we are all packed and ready for our bus tonight at 10pm and the 14 hours it´ll take to get to Puerto Iguassu. Thank goodness for 'coche cama' buses - fully reclining seats!
Colon, Argentina tonyandsara_rtw... for carrying the leather covered (or often stainless steel) flask, cup, straw, and the herb itself. The straw is not just any old straight thing you sip through; it is a complex piece of equipment, usually silver with a touch of gold decoration, with a sieve-like ´bowl´at the end with holes to allow the liquid through. I have to confess to being deadly curious about this whole mate habit and had decided to buy a cup and a packet of ¨Yerba ...
Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay womblekisses... like v´s and vice versa!). We came for a ´papas festival´... papas are potatoes and we were told they make a massive potatoe souffle which they then cook ... a tradition they told us. Well, we caught the bus here from another town about 40 k away (another story how we came to be there ... so many mishaps usually caused by language problems). Got here OK, masses of buses, so no problema. It is a very small place, a bit like Litcham I suppose ...
San Jose ... Liberdad, Uruguay womblekisses... in the town square was not the best thing in Liebig - that accolade goes to the astonishing Butterfly museum. An 81 year old, one-legged, wheelchair-bound old man personally showed me around his massive collection of amazing butterflies and moths of every colour, pattern, size and shape you can imagine, some metallic, some glow-in-the-dark, and all beaufitul, from every corner of the world, as well as a scary cabinet full ...
Liebig, Argentina nigelball... finally came a couple of days into week seven. I pulled into Colon around lunchtime and stopped in a little cafe, to give myself an opportunity to digest the myriad information bestowed upon me by the alarmingly eager tourist office. Having gobbled up my main course, I politely declined postre, not wanting to seem greedy, and made my way outside to hear rumbles of thunder not actually very far away. Finding a place to stay suddenly became very urgent indeed - would I make it ...
Colon, Argentina nigelball... the fruit featured highly in my break, although this particular specimen appeared slightly damaged - likely biffed on the nose by some other item of luggage jealous of the profuse attention I bestowed upon its fruity neighbour. I started eating it nonetheless, deciding that it would probably taste much the same, if a little alcoholic. About halfway through, I looked down to decide which segment to scoff next, to notice that my mandarin ...
Concepcion del Uruguay, Argentina nigelball... that night everyone decided to go into Argentina for dinner, lots of the cities are only separated by a river, this is more in the interior then the area of Argentina i was previously in, its a big ass bridge, and customs on the end of it, customs going threw is a gong shows oh as my uncle said in his broken English, ITS A MESS lol they have tons of people working many booths, none of em had ink they have recently got computers, just no one ...
