... the whole process of the hand making, while the women do the finishing touches of putting ribbons on and sewing inside bands to have the right adjustment to the head size. I passed a shop that had all these old Panama hats on the wall with people's names tagged on them. It turned out to be a Panama hat repair shop with a tag for whose was whose. ... Instead of riding the whole return journey uphill, we flagged a truck and asked him to take us back to the town. Guess what we did that evening? Back to the hot springs for one last soak!

Baņos is definitely one of the highlight of the trip, with amazing scenery and a local town vibe. Yet again Ecuador has done very well to impress us!We left early in the morning on an 8hour bus to Guayaquil ready for our flight to the Galapagos islands. ...

... up a mountain to a Tree House where you can sit on a swing and swing out over the canyon. Pretty scary but a lot of fun. Someone recommended a shortcut to us on the hike but we kind of got lost on the way and ended up having to hike up the flank of the mountain straight, but in the end it was fun.
We also visited a spot where you were supposed to see the Volcano spitting Lava but unfortunately it was very cloudy this day so we could only hear it rumbling, still very impressive.
