Champagne Breakfast
... seaside city, a relaxed city that despite feeling small has a lot to do. We basically spent the whole time at the seaside, eating tapas and various fish/rice dishes (like arroz a banda) and drinking wine.
Favourite tapas: croquetas and patatas bravas is a staple but from now on I don't want to see these dishes again!

Fantastico Alicante!
... of the largest medieval fortresses in Spain. The castle was built by the Moors in the 9th/10th century and, at 166 meters in height, produces an amazing view of the city, coastline and harbor. The castle is full of cannons, dungeons, a moat, the ruins of a small church and, of course, a famous lookout tower. It really is a great place to visit and I definitely wish we would have had more then one day to enjoy Alicante. ...

The hotel we stayed in came complete with all the mod cons you'd expect from a new hotel that specialized in the corporate crowd. Slightly snooty staff, over-priced drinks, hallways so dark you can't see your nose and a phone requiring an operating manual to call reception. Gotta love a modern hotel.
